Cleaning & Disinfection Basics for Staff
in the era of COVID-19 and similar respiratory viruses
The US CDC* (and FDA*) recommend that staff who clean, do laundry, or handle trash be trained in three areas regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. This training takes only 10 minutes and provides those that complete it with a training certificate to provide their employer.
This training is for employees that are charged with routine cleaning and sanitizing of public spaces. This includes foodservice and hospitality spaces considered low risk by the US CDC. This training is NOT for cleaning public spaces that are high risk for contact with known ill persons or who are exposed to blood borne pathogens as part of their job.
*Disclaimer: This training has not been endorsed, reviewed, or approved by either the CDC or FDA and we make no implication to that effect. The sole connection to the CDC is that this training is based on their guidance. CDC videos and pdf documents used are public domain.
